Involvement from families and community is very important in any learning environment. I like to ensure this in my studio through recitals and a community board.
I have three recitals throughout the year to ensure that students have many chances to perform. I find these are a great chance to help the student feel accomplished with what they are doing, the parents feel involved, and motivate the students by having a goal to work towards.
My community board is to help grow the sense on community throughout my studio. It’s a white board that anyone who comes into the studio can add to it. Students write encouraging messages and draw pictures. It has been a huge success, students always look forward to adding to it and seeing what others wrote.
